Smartsheet has become an integral part of our operation over the past year. What first started with transitioning a few sheets from Excel to Smartsheet, has turned into multiple projects including calendars, dashboards and many automated processes for multiple departments.
Some of the advantages of using the program include; allowing multiple individuals to be viewing and editing a worksheet at the same time, automatic notification/alerts and multiple views beyond the typical grid view, like calendar, card and Gantt view.
Recently we used Smartsheet to automate our work order request system. We created a simple form for the requester and using the automation features, we created an approval/decline workflow that filtered to the next person based on department type. After being assigned and completed, the requester and Production Foreman would get an automatic notification that the work order had been completed. Even better, this new and simplified system integrates with our site management software.
Smartsheet is just one of many great examples of how technology is being heavily utilized at Bruin.
